Ø Weight-Aluminum is a very light material compared to others like steel, iron, copper or zinc.
Ø Strength-Aluminum does not have a high tensile strength by itself but it can be easily alloyed with other materials such as Silicon or Copper (among others) to increase this property
Ø Processing-Almost all methods can be used with aluminum (machining, welding, forming, extruding) and most times it is easier to process than other metals.
Ø Conductivity-Due to its light weight, aluminum has a thermal conductivity three times higher than steel which makes it a great heat ex-changer.
Ø Corrosion Resistance-Aluminum naturally protects itself by forming a layer of oxide in its surface when in contact with the atmosphere that prevents further corrosion.
